The OptCom group welcomes three new member:

• Fernando Guiomar  - post-doctoral researcher
• Germán V. Arévalo - visiting researcher
• Dario Pilori - PhD Candidate

During a meeting in Nov. 2nd, the three new members have given the following presentations about their research topics:

• Fernando Guiomar on fiber nonlinearity mitigation
• German Arevalo on optimal dimensioning of Passive Optical Networks
• Dario Pilori on single-sideband DMT for medium reach optical communications
