Thanks to the joint effort between the OPTICAL POLITO Student Chapter, LINKS and the PhotoNext Center, we open our laboratories for open public visits to our laboratory on 11-12 November 2022.

Today, a new papers of ours were accepted today on IEEE/OPTICA Journal of Optical Communication and Networking: it is a Tutorial Invited paper on on next-generation ultra high speed solutions for passive optical network (PON).

The OptCom Group, in collaboration with Southampton University, the Links Foundation and CISCO Photonics, has been awarded a prestigious Post-Deadline paper presentation at ECOC 2019 (PD.1.5). The paper reports on a breakthrough and record-setting transmission experiment on the revolutionary “hollow-core” fiber that Optoelectronics Research Center of Southampton has recently fabricated. This fiber holds the promise for increasing the capacity vs. standard fiber by a factor of up to ten, or more. The paper will be presented by Pierluigi Poggiolini on Thursday, Sept. 26^th.
